Finance Committee (Not open to members)

​The purpose of the Finance Committee for the Lake Forest Property Owners’ Association is to provide oversight, guidance, and strategic recommendations regarding the Association’s financial health and management. The committee works closely with the Board of Directors and management team to review budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure that resources are allocated responsibly to support the community’s needs and long-term goals. It assists in developing annual budgets, reviewing monthly financial statements, evaluating major expenditures, and advising on financial policies and investment strategies. By promoting transparency, accountability, and sound fiscal practices, the Finance Committee plays a vital role in safeguarding the Association’s assets, maintaining property values, and enhancing Lake Forest residents' overall quality of life. Ultimately, its efforts help ensure that financial decisions align with the POA’s mission, values, and the best interests of its membership.
Communication Committee (Not open to members)

​The purpose of the Communications Committee for the Lake Forest Property Owners’ Association is to enhance the flow of information between the Board, management, and the community by promoting clear, accurate, and timely communication. The committee is responsible for helping develop strategies and tools to keep residents informed about Association news, events, policies, and important updates. It assists with the creation and distribution of newsletters, website content, email alerts, social media posts, and other communications channels to ensure information is accessible and engaging. The Communications Committee also helps gather feedback from residents, fostering greater transparency, trust, and community involvement. By maintaining open lines of communication, the committee plays a key role in strengthening community relationships and supporting the overall success of Lake Forest POA initiatives.
Infastructure Committee (Open to members)

The Lake Forest POA Infrastructure Committee is responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and long-term planning of the community’s physical assets and amenities. This committee plays a crucial role in ensuring that the facilities and infrastructure within Lake Forest are safe, functional, and visually appealing for all residents. Its responsibilities include the routine inspection, repair, and upkeep of shared spaces such as pools, clubhouses, playgrounds, sports courts, marinas, and other community amenities. The committee also helps establish and implement maintenance cycles to ensure timely repairs, upgrades, and preventive care, thereby extending the life of community assets and minimizing costly emergency fixes. In addition to ongoing maintenance, the Infrastructure Committee collaborates with the POA Board to plan and prioritize capital improvement projects, such as resurfacing roads, upgrading recreational facilities, or improving drainage systems. By assessing infrastructure needs and recommending solutions, the committee supports sound financial stewardship and helps maintain the overall quality of life within Lake Forest. Through careful planning and consistent oversight, the Infrastructure Committee plays a vital role in protecting property values and enhancing the everyday experience of POA members.
Events, Food and Beverage Committee (Open to members)

The Events Committee is an integral part of our neighborhood community, dedicated to fostering connection, collaboration, and celebration among residents. Composed of enthusiastic members passionate about bringing people together, the committee organizes a variety of events, from seasonal festivals and sporting parties to educational workshops and family activities. These events aim to enhance the neighborhood spirit, create lasting memories, and provide opportunities for everyone to engage with one another.

Lake and Environmental Committee (Open to members)
Chairperson: Tom Opdyke
This Committee, which meets monthly, is chaired by a member of the Board of Directors and consists of community members, although it also may have other directors as members.
It works with Board of Directors’ approval and in conjunction with the association’s general manager to set policy for the lake’s use and maintenance. Among its tasks: ensuring public safety for boating and fishing; flood control; environmental health; and fish and wildlife habitat conservation.
It often will work with the Infrastructure Committee on long-term planning and conservation efforts.
The committee meets monthly unless more frequent meetings are needed.
LFPOA members are welcome as observers at meetings upon arrangements in advance with the chairperson.
Architectural Committee (Not open to members)
Chairperson: Charlotte Graham
This Committee is chaired by a member of the Board of Directors and consists of two other members of the Board. Its primary monthly role is to review and approve property owner permit applications that request architectural changes, such as exterior modifications, changes in paint color, new construction or landscaping changes, to be sure they meet the Architectural Guidelines and Covenants.
The Committee also hears member requests for consideration of special circumstances and variances, and provides guidance on compliance and best practices. The Committee helps foster cooperation and trust among homeowners by maintaining clear communication and fair decision-making processes.
City Liaison Committee (Open to members)
Chairperson: Dr. Byrian Ramsey
The purpose of the City Liaison & Affairs Committee for the Lake Forest Property Owners’ Association is to serve as a bridge between the Association and local government entities, ensuring that the interests of Lake Forest residents are effectively represented and communicated. The committee monitors city developments, public works projects, zoning issues, and policy changes that may impact the community, and works to maintain open, collaborative relationships with city officials and departments. It regularly updates the Board and residents on relevant city matters and advocates for initiatives that benefit Lake Forest. Additionally, the committee may coordinate with other community groups or attend public meetings to stay informed and voice the concerns and needs of the POA. Through proactive engagement, the City Liaison & Affairs Committee helps strengthen Lake Forest’s presence within the broader community and promotes positive outcomes for its residents.
Maintenance Committee (Open to members)
Chairperson: Dr. Byrian Ramsey
The purpose of the Maintenance Committee for the Lake Forest Property Owners Association is to support the preservation, functionality, and overall aesthetic of the community’s shared amenities and assets. This committee serves as an advisory and oversight group, working closely with the POA Board and management to identify, prioritize, and recommend necessary maintenance, repairs, and improvements for facilities such as pools, parks, playgrounds, sports courts, trails, signage, and common areas. The committee conducts regular assessments, gathers input from residents, and helps develop maintenance schedules and budgets to ensure the long-term value and enjoyment of community assets. By fostering proactive planning and community involvement, the Maintenance Committee plays a critical role in safeguarding the quality of life and property values within Lake Forest.
Election Committee (Not open to members)
Chairperson: Dr. Misty Sabol
​This committee is responsible for sending out information about upcoming open board positions. It is also responsible for organizing all information and communicating all necessary deadlines as it relates to qualifying candidates for board positions.
Welcome Committee (Open to members)
Chairperson: Charlotte Graham
The Lake Forest POA Welcome Committee plays a vital role in helping new Property Owners’ Association (POA) members feel informed, welcomed, and connected to the community. The committee serves as a friendly and knowledgeable first point of contact for new residents, offering them a warm introduction to the neighborhood and the many benefits of being part of Lake Forest. Its primary responsibility is to provide clear and helpful information about the POA organization itself, including its mission, structure, and governance. The committee ensures that new members are familiar with the POA Board, how it operates, and how residents can stay engaged or get involved. In addition, the Welcome Committee introduces newcomers to the wide range of community amenities available, such as pools, parks, golf courses, walking trails, and recreational facilities, helping them take full advantage of what Lake Forest has to offer. By distributing welcome packets, answering questions, and offering guidance, the committee helps residents feel at home more quickly and fosters a sense of community from the start. Ultimately, the Welcome Committee plays a key role in promoting communication, community involvement, and a positive experience for all new POA members.
